Dutch Uncles have unveiled the first single to be taken from forthcoming fourth album, O Shudder.
The Manchester five-piece have previewed Decided Knowledge, which will be released on February 23 on Memphis Industries, before the album is released on March 2.
Lead singer Duncan Wallis explains: “The lyrics came as a reaction to failing very miserably at a job interview.
“It was a council job at a local arts centre. I thought personal experience would account for something, but it really didn’t.
“So the melodramatic tone of the words reflect a) how very assuming I was; and, b) how very unsuitable for the job I was in the first place.”
The album was recorded in the Welsh valleys and at their studio in Salford with long-term collaborator Brendan Williams, and features a cameo from Liverpool three-piece Stealing Sheep.
Following the release of the album, the band will play gigs in Stoke, Manchester, London, Belfast and Dublin.
