September 2016 saw the first Stay Fresh Fest take over two floors of one of Manchester’s favourite venues The Deaf Institute. The all-dayer which hosted eight emerging acts from around the North West was such a success that Stay Fresh Fest II is ready to roll again on the 28th of January.
This time round the line-up is just as stellar but will host more acts than the previous event. Announced so far are cosmic electro-psych explorers, Henge, a band that know how to put on a show, so prepare to be aghast, recent Heavenly Records signings, The Orielles, and one of Manchester’s most talked about new bands, Luxury Death – the project of Nai Harvest’s Ben Thompson. There’s scuzzed-out garage rock from Heavy On The Magic, Sheffield’s lo-fi noise-poppers Seize The Chair, who’ve already played a sold out show at Deaf Institute with Drenge. Don’t miss riff heavy sludge monsters, Mums, the twiddly intricacies of Strobes, Lake Of Snakes’ experimental lounge metal, and the raucous indie-punk of Patty Hearst is sure to have steam rising from the crowd until they bubble over!
The first event was a roaring success, so make sure you get down to the second Stay Fresh instalment for a day of great music from acts you may not have been lucky enough to see yet.
Not only are the Deaf Institute putting on another great day of live music, they’ve even thrown a pair of tickets our way for one lucky reader, and to boot there’s even a nice meal chucked in too so you can line your stomach to make sure you stay the course.
Feeling lucky? Then email competition (at) silentradio.co.uk with a contact number and make the subject of your email I Wanna Stay Fresh 2. Competition will close on the 25th of January
