While it may be the shortest month of the year, February always feels like a slog to get through! Whilst the weather is slowly getting hotter, the night still comes way too early, what’s better than to hide away inside a venue and listen to some amazing live music, here’s what’s coming up in Manchester this February.
February 1st, 2025
Floating Points – Victoria Warehouse
Starting the month off with a bang is Floating Points, with a mixture of transcendental, mind-bending house music, with the intensity and attitude of the rave scene. Floating Points AKA Sam Shepherd has been creating music since 2008, and his first album Eleania, received high praise from critics. Following his latest album Cascade, released this past September, Floating points will be taking the roof off Victoria Warehouse, Doors open at 5pm.
Cattle Decapitation – New Century Hall
For those looking for something heavier to spice up the start of their month, good news! Cattle Decapitation are bringing their tour to Manchester. Releasing their first album in 1999, Cattle Decapitation have nearly 30 years of rocking experience behind them, and they’re certainly going to make their presence known at New Century Hall. With supports from bands like Revocation and Shadow of Intent, it’s going to be one hell of a night! The event begins at 7pm.

Young Knives – Deaf Institute
Young Knives have just released their newest album ‘Landfill’ on the 24th January, and their tour kicked off on the 28th, with a mix of post-punk anthemic vocals and an indie Strokes-like guitar, its shaping up to be a good start of the year for this duo.

Field Music – Band on the Wall
Formed in 2004, Field Music consists of brothers David and Peter Brewis, and released their debut album in the summer of 2005, since then, the brothers have released music to high critical praise and their latest album ‘Limits of Language’ released in October to extremely positive reviews. Field Music are bringing their Sunderland indie-funk to Manchester’s Band on the Wall, the show starts at 7:30pm
Lazy Day – Yes Basement
Forming the band a decade ago, Lazy Day has gone from being an idea formed in a bedroom, to a project widely praised in the UK, with sold out shows and new music coming plentiful since 2014.
The latest album, ‘Open the Door’ released in November, it’s looking to be a good start to 2025 for Lazy Day.

Inhaler – Apollo
It’s going to be a huge year for Irish indie rock band Inhaler, being described as one of the most promising acts in the current music scene, and releasing their much anticipated third album ‘Open Wide’ the day before this gig on the 7th February, 3500 fans of the Irish phenomenon are flocking down to the Apollo for the first Manchester date of their sold out tour. Doors open at 7pm.
Gloryhammer – Ritz
A much heavier sound is also in Manchester on the same date, as Gloryhammer are taking the stage at the Ritz bringing their unique story driven band, who each have their own characters, with a mix of powerful melancholic ballads and stinging guitar, it promises to be exhilarating!
Doors open at 6:30pm with supports from DOMINUM and Fellowship.
Kawala – New Century Hall
For the second gig in New Century Hall this month, it’s going to be a lot more chill and relaxed than Cattle Decapitation, Kawala from North London offer a mixture of Rhythmic beats and Acoustic guitar fused with some extremely meaningful and soul filled vocals. And with this being the last tour the band are doing; chances are it’s going to be an emotional ending. Doors open at 7pm.
Vower – Star & Garter
Vower are a very new band, still yet to release their debut album, fans have been replaying the band’s singles constantly, and this February they are taking the stage at Star & Garter on their first ever tour. The event is set to start at 7pm.

Ben Barnes – New Century Hall
Whilst you may recognise Ben Barnes if you’ve watched the Chronicles of Narnia movies, this is a new chapter for the actor, finally getting to pursue his dream of creating music, Barnes will be taking the stage of New Century Hall at 7pm.

Warren Zeiders – Albert Hall
Country is a genre that sometimes gets a miss in Manchester, but near the middle of the month, country sensation Warren Zeiders will be at Albert Hall before his newest album ‘Relapse, Lies & Betrayal’ showing off his wonderful skills in a collection of heartfelt stories about his life. Be at Albert Hall for 6pm.
Hamish Hawk – New Century Hall
Bringing a Scottish presence to Manchester this month is Hamish Hawk. His latest album was released in the summer met with acclaim from critics and fans, it’s going to be a personal one and a night to remember.

Bayside – Gorilla
Coming from the ‘Big Apple’ bayside have 20 years of experience as a band, releasing their debut ‘Sirens and Condolences’ in 2004, this month, the punk band with clear influences from Black Sabbath and System of a Down are at Gorilla. Music is set to start at 8pm
Peter Perret – Deaf Institute
While he may not be in the Only Ones anymore, Peter Perrett has got a fantastic selection of solo material since his debut album in 2017 and following his latest ‘The cleansing’ receiving extremely positive reviews from critics, it is looking like a gig not to miss!

Personal Trainer – Gorilla
If you’re looking for something to do on this year’s romantic holiday, Personal Trainer are putting on what promises to be an amazing gig at Gorilla.
Coming to the rainy city from Amsterdam, Personal Trainer are a promising new indie / alternative band, taking the inspiration for their music from some of the biggest indie bands such as the Strokes. those looking to experience a new and interesting indie band should get down to Gorilla for 7pm.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre – Albert Hall
Formed in 1990, The Brian Jonestown Massacre fuse the punchy and raucous Alt-rock with a shoegaze and psychedelia twist on it. Over the 30 years of being in the band, they have been to subject of many controversies, from band members attacking each other on stage and cancelling a tour, to copious amounts of drugs and alcohol. It’s shaping up to be a big gig for fans, and the first time the band has been to Manchester since 2018.
Heartworms – The White Hotel
Heartworms is the solo project from the multi-talented singer songwriter, Jojo Orme, the music of Heartworms is a wonderful multitude of different genres, effects and styles. From the almost Cure like guitar stings on songs like ‘Consistent Dedication’ and the rhythms and beats of LCD Soundsystem on ‘Jacked’. Heartworms are on stage at The White Hotel this Valentine’s Day, doors open at 7pm.
Leatherette – Big Hands
Leatherette are beginning to make a name for themselves in the UK music scene, with their fantastic blend of different styles and raw gritty vocals, and a new single ‘Itchy’ being released at the end of January, it’s definitely one you should get down for.

Obscura & Skeletal Remains – Rebellion
With their newest album ‘A sonication’ released on the 7th February, Obscura are expected to have an amazing year in 2025, the mixture of progressive and death metal has fans in pure anticipation waiting for the new release, and to show it off, they are performing at Rebellion in Manchester, supported by Californian death metal band ‘ Skeletal Remains’ it’s going to be a big one for metal fans.
Mouth Culture – Gorilla
Stemming from Leicester, Mouth Culture are a heavy, alt and grunge trio, with amazingly powerful lyrics that strike the listener, Kerrang! Magazine has described them “equally addictive and ambitious” if that all sounds like something you’re interested in, Gorilla is the place to be on the 16th!

Skinner – The Lodge at Deaf Institute
At only 24 years old, Dublin new-wave artist Skinner has made a name for himself in the new-wave post-punk scene. And this February is bringing his ballads of the problems growing up in the 21st century and a glimpse into growing up in Ireland. Skinner has just released his newest album on the 10th January and his tour begins in Liverpool on the 12th.
Rats On Rafts – The Peer Hat
The four-piece Dutch Post-Punk band are bringing their UK tour to Manchester on the 16th, after just releasing a new album on the 7th “Deep Below”, Rats on Rafts are band that has to be experienced live, and The Peer Hat is the place to be to witness them.

Maquina – Yes Basement
Being described as when punk and psychedelia meets dance music, the Portuguese trio have been beginning to raise eyebrows in the music scene since their debut album in 2023, from their spine-tingling bass to the brain shaking beats, Manchester is going to be shaken when they take the stage at the Yes Basement, doors open at 7pm.

Inhaler – Apollo
Due to incredible demand, only mere hours after the first Manchester date was on sale, Inhaler added a second date, and to many fan’s delight, the Irish indie rockers new album releases on the 7th February, and it is shaping up to be an incredible night at the Apollo.
Peter Alexander Jobson – Salford Trinity Church
Whether you know him from his solo work, or as the bassist of the Manchester trio, ‘I Am Kloot’. Peter Alexander Jobson uses his voice as a visceral weapon to strike words into the hearts of his listeners and give them an experience worth remembering. He is starting his 2-night run at 7pm on the 21st.
Fish – The Albert Hall
This February marks the farewell tour for Scottish singer/songwriter Fish.
You may know him as the former frontman for Marillion until 1988.
Now the Prog rock legend is finishing up his career with one last tour, and with a show at The Albert Hall, it is going to be a nice farewell. Doors are at 6:30pm

Snow Patrol – Co-op Live
With their newest album ‘The Forest is the Path’ released only a few months ago, Snow Patrol are bringing their UK tour to the Co-Op Live in Manchester, the band formed just over 30 years ago and have had their hit single ‘Chasing Cars’ be the most played song on UK radio in the 21st century. Doors are at 6:30pm
The Buoys – AATMA
Coming from literally around the world, the Australian all-woman indie rock band are going to be rocking the stage at AATMA, with their debut album ‘Lustre’ being released in the summer, and receiving very positive reviews, its looking like 2025 could be the year that The Buoys make their mark on the UK music scene.
The Bug Club – Gorilla
Formed in Wales in 2016 by Brothers Sam and Ross Willmett, The Bug Club started as a blues band before moving to a more indie/garage rock style.
Their newest album ‘On the Intricate Inner Workings of the System’ shows off their skills in mixing their raw emotional songwriting with a raucous energy.
The doors open at 7pm and are supported by garage-psych band British Bird.

Coldwave – Castle Hotel
Bringing their frantic and insane energy to the end of the month is Coldwave, Fans can expect to hear some amazing vocals mixed with some piercing guitar stings, whilst still yet to release a debut album, Coldwave have a wonderful selection of singles and it is most certainly going to be a good night to end the month with.
Parastatic – The Eagle Inn
Parastatic formed in Newcastle in 2010, since then they have released three albums, with their most recent being released on the 21st of February, with a fantastic blend of shoegaze and krautrock, Paratastic are going to be taking the stage for a night heavy and piercing music, at 8pm
Split Dogs – Gullivers
The last show of this month is Split Dogs at Gulliver’s, formed in 2021, they have received extremely good reviews with their debut album, they are bringing their high-octane, intense energy to Manchester, after the release of their latest EP ‘Lafayette’, Split Dogs will be putting on an immense show at Gullivers and it will definitely be full of that insane manic energy fans have come to love.
