Real life Texan Jarrod Dickenson will be in Manchester this weekend and has kindly agreed to be to take the count of Silent Sessions to 4.
The Silent Sessions are filmed and recorded during the Silent Radio show that goes out live each week from 3-5 on Fab Radio International. Previous sessionees are MG Boulter of The Lucky Strikes, Songs For Walter and Karima Francis (all can be viewed here). All have managed to give great live acoustic renditions of their songs in our tiny studio.
Jarrod Dickenson, currently residing in New York is a folk singer of the highest calibre. He took to writing music after being invited to play guitar in his local church band. His songs are influenced by legendary Texas troubadours like Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark and also American literature. Debut album Ashes On The Ground (2008) was written whilst in his senior year at university in Texas.
After leaving university he says “I drove thousands of miles, and played in over half of the states in our country, that was a very influential time for me. I learned that I love being on the road.”
This time being on the road will bring him to Manchester, so don’t miss out, tune in to the radio show this weekend for something special. You can also catch him playing live on the same night at The Night & Day Cafe (tickets here). You can find details of how to hear the radio show here.
