South Wales’s Mojo JNR has unveiled latest single ‘You Got It (or something like that)’. The musician behind the moniker, Josh David-Read, says about the song:
“‘You Got It’ is about a feeling. The feeling you have when you lock eyes with someone for the first time, the song is based on an inner monologue while at a house party. I wrote this when I was self-isolating with my long-term girlfriend in a house we rented with out-dated 70s decor, and I wanted to reflect that in my instrumentation with my use of 70’s inspired analogue synths. I looked at her one night and thought ‘yeah, you’ve still got it’. I still don’t know what ‘it’ is, I don’t think anybody knows. ‘It’ is different for everyone, but everyone still feels the same. I want to make this clear, this is not a love song, this song defines those fleeting moments before the sparks of attraction.”
The track will be released on February 26th.
