Future Islands new video for ‘Glada’ has been unveiled from their 2020 album ‘As Long As You Are’. Directed by actress and frontman Sam Herring’s partner, Julia Ragnarsson, who makes her directorial debut, it was edited by the renowned Ponyhans. It features the Swedish countryside and follows a lasting love between characters as the changing seasons come to pass. Future Islands’ Sam Herring says of the video:
“The main treatment for the video was a portrait of the Swedish countryside with Julia’s parents as the protagonists. They filmed in the spring, summer, and most recently in the early fall of last year. For me, most importantly, it captures the place that this song is about, which is all I wanted to share in the first place.”
