Demon Dayz Festival 2017
AEG Presents/Goldenvoice have recently announced the launch of Demon Dayz – a one-day festival extravaganza curated by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett. Its debut at Dreamland amusement park in Margate on Saturday 10th June 2017, will this year feature Gorillaz in the headline slot.
Set to become a major player on the UK tour scene, Dreamland Margate has played host to a legendary line-up of music superstars, including The Who and Rolling Stones at the park’s renowned Hall By The Sea. With restored vintage rides and sweeping beach vistas, plus a new suite of upgrades for 2017, the park has special significance for Gorillaz – having once played host to Keith Albarn’s psychedelic art installation ’The Spectrum’ in 1968 – and will see music fans enjoy the best in home grown and international talent, set amongst restored 1920s rides, British seaside fare, and interactive art installations.
With three stages and an eclectic line-up to be announced soon, plus free admission to the amusement park, Demon Dayz marks Gorillaz’ welcome return to the live stage – their first UK show since the sold out Plastic Beach World Tour of 2010. They line-up as: 2D (vocals), Noodle (guitar), Russel Hobbs (drums) and Murdoc Niccals (bass).
For its inaugural year, Demon Dayz has joined creative forces with Red Bull. This collaboration will see the festival broadcast live and exclusively to the world through Red Bull TV.
