In September 2015, Manchester DIY trio False Advertising released their eponymous debut album. The band’s grunge infused noise-pop garnered much word-of-mouth acclaim: Total Guitar hailed them ‘Guitarists to Watch in 2016’, whist the long-player was an ‘Album of the Year’ in Manchester Evening News, The Skinny and Shoplifters Union, with plays on Amazing Radio for album tracks and the video for single Dozer featuring on The Guardian.
Live the band’s instrument-swapping high energy sets won over fans and saw them quickly booked for festivals including Dot to Dot and Chorlton Arts Festival (as main support to Young Knives) plus saw them play packed-out headline shows across the UK.
Now the band return with the Brainless E.P. which continues where previous single Dozerleft off, fusing an uncanny knack for sophisticated song-craft with brash loudness.
The Brainless E.P. was self recorded and produced at Hingley’s DIY garage-studio in Oxfordshire on a December weekend and is released on 22 April [CD/Digitally]. On the same day, E.P. track You’re Too Slow will be released as a stand-alone digital single, both preceded by the digital single Alopecia out on 11 March. All self-released via False Advertising’s Bandcamp. The track Give It Your Worst will be released via Too Pure Singles Club this summer.
Brainless E.P. Tracklist:
1. Alopecia
2. Give It Your Worst
3. You’re Too Slow
