Yuck’s Mariko Doi and The History of Apple Pie’s James Thomas unveiled their joint project Parakeet back in January with debut single ‘Tomorrow’. Self-released as a 7” in April the swirling, heady number was backed by ‘Paper, Scissors, Stone’, which now has its very own kaleidoscopic video directed by Maria Cecillia.

Despite the band’s shoegaze heavy, grunge-filled provenance, the forthcoming 10 track record promises to be a noisier affair. The album features Doi’s off-kilter vocals piercing their way through an intense mass of guitars and ferocious percussion to deliver a bracing, infectious effort.
