Erinsborough’s most famous couple marked their 26th Wedding Anniversary this week and to celebrate, their Aussie namesakes Scott & Charlene’s Wedding reveal a new track from their forthcoming album ‘Any Port in A Storm’, due out on Fire Records on 22 July. Appropriately titled ‘Lesbian Wife’, the song encapsulates Craig Dermody’s nonchalant slacker charm, brimming with effervescent jangle, fuzzy lo-fi guitars and infectious melodies.
‘Lesbian Wife’ sees Aussie ex-pat Dermody caught up in the throes of New York’s Hurricane Sandy and feeling homesick for Melbourne life. Heartwrenchingly honest yet delightfully affable, his heart-on-sleeve lyrics reveal tales of everyday Dermody life, somehow more absurdly unhinged, humorous and poignant than the lives of his peers.
