Radkey have announced that they will return to the UK for a full tour in October and November this year to play tracks from their debut album ‘Dark Black Makeup’, scheduled for release on Littleman Records on August 21st.
The band have also shared their brand new single ‘Love Spills’: “a song about an evil villain type character and his dreams of terrorizing the city that he loves,” explains Isaiah Radke.
Recorded at McCall Sound Studios in Sheffield with producer Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, The Fall, Jarvis Cocker), Dark Black Makeup is the culmination of these three young men’s unconventional lives to date. It is, they say, an album concerned with “jealousy, regret, love, obsession, death, insecurity, and sadistic, evil people – the kind of things that make you feel uneasy”. As Isaiah elaborates: “There’s a real dark streak to this album; we’re inspired by the movies of Stanley Kubrick and if you pay attention you might find some of the lyrics uncomfortable to listen to. A lot of these are what I would call ‘fuck love’ songs.”
