SOUND CITY REVEAL PEACE, SLOW READERS CLUB, IBIBIO SOUND MACHINE, BAXTER DURY, IDLES, JAWS, LOW ISLAND, CASSIA, THE ORIELLES AND ZUZU

The first bands revealed to feature at Liverpool Sound City 2018 are alt-psych rock band Peace, and guitar-electro poppers The Slow Readers Club. They will rub shoulders with Eno Williams’ African and electronic clash Ibibio Sound Machine, and Baxter Dury who weaves sparse yet touching lyrics through his music. Arch social commentators Idles chronicle the decline of the country, whilst there’s energetic indie pop from Jaws who will bounce off Low Island’s colourful, jazz-inspired sounds. Cassia bring their calypso-flavoured afro-rock, plus there’s vibrant indie from The Orielles, and finally Liverpool-born enigmatic pop-rocker Zuzu completes the first wave of names.

Also don’t forget that applications are still open for artists to apply to play at Sound City until 19th January 2018.
