Palma Violets complete their amazing year with a massive 14 date headline UK tour.
Since the release their debut album 180’ back in February, the London four-piece have toured America, supported the likes of Alabama Shakes, Django Django and Savages, and appeared on Jools Holland and Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel. Plus they received accolades from being nominated for the BBC Sound of 2013 Poll to having lead single ‘Best Of Friends’ named NME’s Track Of The Year in 2012.
Their critically acclaimed debut ‘180’ released on Rough Trade earlier this year and was produced by Steve Mackey (Pulp) and Rory Attwell (Test Icicles). It is named after the studio where the band’s story began. Back in 2011 with minimum online presence and no songs recorded, Palma Violets wanted people to come and experience their shows at their Lambeth studio 180. The album captures the live energy of these formative shows. NME declared it to be ‘the new soundtrack to your life’, Q ‘one of the best debut albums of the decade’ and The Quietus simply ‘f**king brrrrilliant’.
The Guardian said Palma Violets ‘were born to be rock stars’ and this new tour will give people who haven’t been lucky enough to see them before experience their raucous live show.
