Public Service Broadcasting have announced their first new music, since their debut album Inform – Educate – Entertain in May 2013, as part of Record Store Day 2014.
Available on exclusive, limited edition white 7” vinyl, it samples archive footage from the Netherlands’ Eleven Cities Tour: the Elfstedentocht – world’s biggest ice skating race. The organisers of the historic race event had commissioned the band to perform the songs at Explore the North Festival in Leeuwarden in November 2013 in the North of the Netherlands.
To support and celebrate the release, PSB are undertaking a mini-tour and hitting cities they failed to get round to on their last UK tour. Leicester, Lincoln and Hull will be visited on successive dates, before rounding off on Record Store Day itself in Stockton. The band will perform at Sound It Out, followed by a performance at the Georgian Theatre as part of Stockton Calling.
After a triumphant debut US tour which included a sold out show in New York and SXSW punters queuing around the block for their BBC Introducing showcase in Austin, TX, the band are now setting their sights on Europe and a tour support with The Manic Street Preachers beckons in May after their own headline tours in March & April.
