As the clock winds down to Record Store Day, there’s another addition to an already jam-packed gig roster ahead of this Saturday’s international event.
This Friday, 18th of April, Kraak Space in the Northern Quarter will see a triple threat bill featuring BUOYS, Groves and Tribal Fighters warm us up for the weekend ahead.
Hailing from Norwich, BUOYS are veterans of the local music scene down there. With ex members from both Fever Fever and The Brownies, this incarnation is new in town and will be playing their first gig up North. Their debut release ‘Apollo’ has already been creating a buzz and with a mixture of riot sympathies and alt-rock being prominent in their sound, it’s difficult to give them a label (which is always good), but you can count on these being one of the most original bands from the ‘Fine City’.
Supported by Groves, this Manchester three-piece will provide the quintessential in-your-face noise for this evening, with last year’s successful underground EP release still ringing in our ears.
As an appetizer to all this delicious music, one of Manchester’s most loved Math-pop bands are brought in to open the show. Tribal Fighters will be sure to capture your attention with their energetic and all instrumental live show.
