PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTING ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM AND TOUR

Public Service Broadcasting will head to Manchester next year to promote their eagerly anticipated second album.

The Race for Space will be released on February 23 next year, and the duo will head out on tour in April and May, including a date at The Ritz on Wednesday, April 29.

To launch the album, the band will play two sold-out shows at the National Space Centre in Leicester on February 26 and 27.

The band issued a teaser trailer to the album, which featured John F Kennedy’s famous Rice speech in 1962, which aimed to persuade the American public of the merits of NASA’s bid to send a man to the moon.

The innovative duo, who weave samples from archive footage with their live sound, say the new album will feature an exploration of the period in the 1960s when the US and the Soviet Union fought to gain the upper hand in the space race.

The record will feature a double-sided sleeve, so listeners can choose their preferred artwork.
