Pacific

Pacific

Pacific, an unsigned Cheshire band, have recently released the video to their hotly anticipated single, ‘Those Nights’. The video, directed and filmed by LAB Exposure, would not look out of place if an established indie band had used it, the visuals successfully conveying Anthony’s (singer-songwriter) struggle to acknowledge what is going on around him as he reflects on a past relationship.

I caught up with the band’s drummer, Drew, who told me about how the ideas for the video developed: “The idea of using a taxi to show this came from mixed ideas floating between ourselves and the directors/cameraman Duncan Howsley of LAB Exposure. He had always wanted to try the idea out, but the right song had never come around until now.”

The musical qualities are just as good as the visuals. I have always wondered why the band has not yet been signed after their BBC Introducing success and their second-to-none image. ‘Those Nights’ is another piano-driven track that has an air of The Courteeners about it alongside palm-muted guitars. I always know a track has a certain quality to it when I go out of my way to replay it, which is exactly what happened with this one. It really has something about it.

This could also be said about their previous single ‘Time To Forget’, which I was a huge fan of and gave airtime to on my radio show.

With an indie swagger, this band are really one to watch out for. They’ve distanced themselves from the rest and I only expect them to prosper. Pacific are set to appear at festivals over the summer, so if you’re lucky enough to be at a festival they are playing, I highly recommend a watch of these four lads. The sky really is the limit for Pacific.
