After the sad news earlier this year that young band Viola Beach had lost their lives in a freak car accident, Friars Court is hosting a night of music featuring local acts such as newcomers Polareyes and Pacific.
After the tragic events of 13th February, the Viola Beach story will be remembered as one of immense sadness and loss. It was a day to discard music tastes and remember what’s important when people lose their lives, especially those so devoted to pursuing their art and dreams.
When Coldplay headlined Glastonbury this year, they did a rendition of “Boys That Sing” and highlighted the way in which despite tragedy in music, people can still be brought together. The band today lives on through their families and contemporaries, helped by single sales that have shot them right to the top of the charts, something they could only dream of. Their debut album, collected of the recordings achieved before their deaths, is due for release on 29th July too via Fuller Beans Records.
Featuring alt-rock band Polareyes, who are currently working on an EP, Michigan, providing the “sexy holiday pop rock”, Young Cesar and headliners Pacific, Friars Court in Warrington is sure to be bouncing on 3rd September.
