From time to time, one of our contributors will recommend an artist/band they think deserves  your attention. No record labels, PR companies, bands or band’s management will ever have made these recommendations. It is simply one music fan putting their taste on the line in the hope of sharing good music. The questions are intended to give just a basic introduction to possibly your new favourite artist/band.

So without further ado, let’s crack on with another introduction, in which Silent Radio Editor Simon Zaccagni recommends Honey2Honey for your audible delectation.

● Who are ya?
Rory. That is my name. One part of Honey2Honey which is made up of much better people than myself, Del, Daryl & sometimes Luke. Real honeys that’s for sure.

● Where are you from?
The least memorable capital city in the World <3 (Canberra, actually not so bad). Although the rest of the band lives in Sydney so I like to joke I live on the highway at the moment. A bus is not a bad hometown.

● How long have you been doing what you’re doing now?
Couldn’t say – always ongoing!! That is music wise at large, Honey2Honey came out of my solo project Raus after getting Luke on board a few years ago… its been reformulating itself since.

● Is being a musician your full time job?
It’s my job but not how I get money… I realise I’ve made it sound a little bit mysterious or a lot like I live off my parents lol, this is to disguise the actual answer which is more ordinary (on the till at the local Polish Club).

● Are there any obvious influences in your music?
Yea, my (the) early Honey (2Honey) stuff for sure. Ha.

● Are there any not so obvious influences in your music?
Why? What do you hear? Is it good? I can’t really say. We just make the songs, You all should listen to them and let me know! I await your response.

● Any musical Guilty Pleasures? Come on you can share, we’re all friends here!
Where is this getting published…? Straight after all the secrets! I actually don’t think I believe there is any such thing gonna have to dodge another question I likes what I likes, but if your after my karaoke song I go for It Wasn’t Me – Shaggy, impossible to sing and once sung so poorly impossible to forget.

● Apart from yourself of course, what other band/artist would you recommend our readers check out?
Nah, just us…….. aaaand Holy Balm, Dick Diver, Laura Jean. If you know what I’m getting at…

● Tell us about the defining moment when you thought ‘Fuck, yes I want to be a musician!’
The first time I was a musician, when I made music. Really grasping for emojis that aren’t possible on a word processor but for the record I’d select either the big smile sweat drop face or shruggy man in blue top.

● Does what go on, on tour, stay on tour?
No I tell my girlfriend everything.

● What’s your most favouritist gig (as a gig goer), like, ever?
Our last show at the Hollywood was pretty awesome. How much longer can I fob this ego trick off as charming… couple more questions lets see.

● Who, in your wildest dreams would you like to collaborate with/be produced by?
After I clone myself my dream will be fulfilled. So far I’ve been pretty lucky with collaborators/producers so my appetite is like, fine.
