We have trawled through the forthcoming gigs in and around Manchester so you don’t have to.
We believe that if we are going to recommend a gig to you, then it should be exactly that, a recommendation. There’s always plenty of great gigs going on in Manchester, too many to cover them all, but here’s the list of gigs we’re excited about in July 2024.
July 1st – Body Count ft Ice-T – O2 Ritz Manchester
Critically acclaimed heavy metal band Body Count will tour their eighth studio album, ‘Merciless’, along with American hip hop icon Ice-T. Doors open at 7.00pm!
July 1st – Blondshell – Band On The Wall
The LA based pop rock singer will be blessing Band On The Wall with a performance, doors open at 7.30pm.
July 2nd – Liam Bailey – YES Pink Room
Noted for his blues, reggae and blues influenced vocal delivery, the artist will be appearing at the YES Pink Room from 7.30pm.
July 3rd – Avril Lavigne – Castlefield Bowl
The mastermind behind iconic hits such as ‘Sk8er Boi’, ‘Complicated’, ‘My Happy Ending’ and many more. Avril Lavigne will be gracing the Castlefield Bowl with her presence from 5.30pm.
July 3rd / July 4th – White Lies – Gorilla
Beloved indie band White Lies will be playing at Gorilla as part of an eight show tour across the UK, where they will be performing their albums ‘Ritual’ and ‘BIG TV’ in full! You can expect to see them from 7.00pm, on the evening of the UK General Election.
July 4th – Mewn – YES Basement
Manchester based up-and-coming alt-indie band Mewn are slated to perform from 7.00pm at YES Basement!
July 4th – Madison McFerrin – YES Pink Room
There are a lot of great choices at YES on July 4th with American singer-songwriter Madison McFerrin putting on a dazzling performance for audiences at 7.30pm.
July 4th – The National – Castlefield Bowl
Cincinnati’s own, The National, are expected to put on an excellent show at the Castlefield Bowl. Doors for the show open at 5.30pm!
July 5th – Big Wett – YES Basement
Rising Australian electro-pop star Big Wett will be making an appearance at YES Basement. You can see her from 7.30pm!
July 5th – Fatboy Slim – Castlefield Bowl
One of the most iconic DJ’s of the 90’s will be playing the Castlefield Bowl on July 5th. The legendary record producer is set to take the stage at 5.30pm.
July 5th – The Skatalites – Band on The Wall
From 7.30pm, just days after playing Glastonbury, legendary ska band The Skatalites will be appearing at Manchester’s Band On The Wall.
July 6th – The Saw Doctors – Castlefield Bowl
Since forming in 1986, The Saw Doctors have had a string of hits, with 18 Top 30 singles in the Republic of Ireland alone! They’ll be live at the Castlefield Bowl from 5.00pm.
July 6th – Antarctic Monkeys – O2 Ritz
The UK’s most well known tribute act to the Arctic Monkeys will take the stage at the O2 Ritz on July 6th, aiming for a 6.00pm start.
July 6th – Brittany Howard – Albert Hall
One of Alabama’s greatest musicians, Brittany Howard, stops at Albert Hall for an evening of rock and roll. The show starts at 7.00pm, don’t miss it!
July 6th – Wasted Youth – YES Basement
The post-punk band that rose to prominence in the late 70s and early 80s will be performing at YES’s Basement venue. Doors open for Wasted Youth at 7.00pm.
July 7th – Tom Grennan – Castlefield Bowl
One of the UK’s most promising rising stars, Tom Grennan, will play the Castlefield Bowl on Sunday 7th July. Be sure to witness his powerful, gritty voice in person! The 29 year old star will be on stage shortly after 5.00pm.
July 7th – Michael Cera Palin – The Deaf Institute
The emo rock band from Atlanta Georgia will be making an appearance at The Deaf Institute on Grosvenor Street. Doors open at 7.00pm.
July 8th – Calva Louise – The Deaf Institute
The brilliant rock trio Calva Louise are scheduled to put on a show at The Deaf Institute, be there for 7.00pm!
July 10th – Loyle Carner – Castlefield Bowl
English Electro-Hip-Hop star and Mercury Prize winner Loyle Carner will be gracing audiences at the Castlefield Bowl with his presence. Standing seats are still available and the show will start at 5.30pm!
July 10th – The Gories – Night N Day
Legendary trio of the garage rock scene from Detroit, Formed in 1986, The Gories will be at the brilliant Night N Day Café from 7.30pm.
July 11th – Jungle – Castlefield Bowl
Founded in 2013 by London based producers Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, Jungle will be bringing their dance tunes to the Castlefield Bowl from 5.30pm!
July 11th – Cosmic Psychos – Night N Day
Formed in 1982, Australian punk rock legend Cosmic Psychos will be performing at Night N Day. They’ve been sampled by The Prodigy and heavily influenced many bands of the Seattle grunge scene in the 90s! Doors open at 7.30pm.
July 12th – Section 25 – YES Basement
English post-punk and electro band Section 25 will be appearing at the YES Basement with Kevin Hewick! 7.30pm is the time you’ll want to arrive for.
July 12th – Amigo The Devil – Gorilla
American singer-songwriter Danny Kiranos,AKA Amigo The Devil, will be playing at Gorilla from 7.00pm. With any luck, he’ll bring his banjo!
July 12th – Manic Street Preachers and Suede – Castlefield Bowl
On the evening of July 12th, Welsh rock band The Manics will be playing the Castlefield Bowl along with Suede! Doors open at 6.00pm for an unforgettable night.
July 12th – LOVE with Johnny Echols – Band On The Wall
The legendary psych infused band is back! With founding member and guitarist Johnny Echols, the band will be playing from 7.00pm.
July 13th – Hacienda Classical – Castlefield Bowl
Hacienda Classical will be putting on a show for everyone at the Castlefield Bowl from 5.00pm.
July 13th – Turnover – Gorilla
Run for Cover Records very own Turnover will be performing at Gorilla on July 13th. The indie dream pop sensations will be on from 7.00pm!
July 14th – Frank Turner – Academy 2
Singer-songwriter Frank Turner, who dabbles in both punk and folk, will be performing at Academy 2 from 7.00pm, is there any better way to spend a Sunday?
July 15th – Single Mothers – YES Basement
Canadian punk rock band Single Mothers will hit the YES Basement at 7.00pm on July 15th, it promises to be a brilliant evening!
July 16th -Into It. Over It. – YES Pink Room
A leading act of the 2010’s emo revival, Into It. Over it. Are gracing the YES Pink Room with their presence. Tickets are still on sale and doors open at 7.00pm.
July 16th – Death From Above 1979 – O2 Ritz
Canadian rock duo Death From Above 1979 to appear at the O2 Ritz. Be sure to arrive for 7.00pm to watch them bring down the house!
July 16th – Theo Croker – Band On The Wall
American Jazz trumpeter and vocalist Theo Croker will be performing at Band On The Wall from 7.00pm, you won’t wanna miss this performance by the GRAMMY nominee!
July 16th – Liana Flores – The Deaf Institute
British-Brazilian singer songwriter brings her melodic folk tunes to The Deaf Institute on July 16th. Doors open at 7.30pm!
July 17th – Alkaline Trio – O2 Ritz
Chicago punk-rock band Alkaline Trio are due to perform at the O2 Ritz! The show is scheduled to start for 7.00pm.
July 18th – Squirrel Flower – YES Basement
Ella O’Connor Williams, better known as Squirrel Flower, will be bringing indie folk realness to the YES Basement. She will be appearing from 7.00pm. (What a great line-up at YES this month!)
July 18th – The Jungle Giants – The Deaf Institute
Australian indie rockers, who have racked up half a million streams worldwide, will put on a show at The Deaf Institute, beginning at 7.00pm.
July 19th – Neon Fields – Factory
Neon Fields, the trio from the South-West that combine dark industrial rock with atmospheric synths, will be taking the stage at Factory Manchester from 6.30pm!
July 19th – Vala – YES Pink Room
Vala, the Mancunian boyband will be lighting up the Pink Room at YES from 7.30pm.
July 19th – The Guest List – Gorilla
Formed in 2021, The Guest List have risen to prominence in the North of England and are coming to steal the stage at Gorilla on July 19th! Doors open at 6.00pm.
July 19th – Garbage – O2 Apollo
Scottish-American rock band Garbage are due to bring the house down at the O2 Apollo! Tickets are still on sale and doors open at 7.00pm.
July 21st – Gary Louris – Night & Day Cafe
Acclaimed singer-songwriter and member of US rock band The Jayhawks, Gary Louris, will be making his presence well and truly known at Night & Day Cafe! Be there for 7.30pm.
July 25th – Ogives Big Band – The Deaf Institute
Ogives Big Band, the psychedelic experimental rockers from Bristol, are due to bring their stoner rock vibes to the Deaf Institute from 7.00pm.
July 25th – Clamm – YES Basement
Clamm, the band that pen songs fighting power and oppression, will be bringing their brilliance to the YES Basement venue. Be there for 7.00pm!
July 25th – Lightheaded – Gullivers
Lightheaded, the band that thrives off guitar-fused pop with elements of folk and Americana, will be making an appearance at Gullivers from 7.30pm.
July 25th – The Commoners – Night & Day Café
Fancy a dose of Canadian blues rock? Get yourself down to Night & Day Café, where The Commoners will be performing from 7.30pm.
July 26th – LIFEGUARD – YES
The Chicago based alternative and indie band LIFEGUARD will be rocking up to YES later this month. The time? 7.30pm! Don’t miss it.
July 28th – Black Uhuru – Band On The Wall
The group formed in 1972 that has sold the most reggae album (just behind Bob Marley), Black Uhuru will be performing material from some of their 14 albums at Band On The Wall! The pioneers will be there from 7.30pm.
