We have trawled through the forthcoming gigs in and around Manchester so you don’t have to.

We believe that if we are going to recommend a gig to you, then it should be exactly that, a recommendation. There’s always plenty of great gigs going on in Manchester, too many to cover them all, but here’s the list of gigs we’re excited about in October 2024.

October 3 rd – Solar Eyes – 33 Oldham Street

The Birmingham band will be bringing their blend of cosmic melodies and thought-
provoking lyricism to Manchester for an unforgettable evening, starting at 7.30pm.

October 3 rd – The Courettes – Night N Day

Described as a mix of The Ronettes and The Ramones, the rock duo are bringing
their garage rock/60s girl group blend of sounds to Night N Day in Manchester, which
will begin at 8pm.

October 3 rd – Sarah Davachi – Sacred Trinity Church

Canadian composer, organist and pianist Sarah Davachi will be gracing the Sacred
Trinity Church in Salford with an evening of unmissable talent. Get there for 7.30pm!

October 3 rd – Yeat – Mayfield Depot

Impressive rapper and record producer Yeat is due to perform in Manchester and is
guaranteed to put on an electrifying show for eager fans. 7.00pm is the time to show
up.

October 4 th – Tom Meighan – The O2 Ritz

Tom Meighan, the former lead singer of beloved band Kasabian will perform at The
Ritz, with doors opening from 6.00pm. At very reasonable prices, it’s a great way to
start your weekend.

October 4 th – Public Service Broadcasting – Night N Day

The London based band of four are venturing up North to put on a show at the iconic
Night N Day venue. The band are expected to celebrate the launch of their new LP
‘The Last Flight’ and you can join the party from 7.30pm.

October 9 th – Humanist – The Deaf Institute

Orchestrated by producer Rob Marshall, Humanist describe themselves as futuristic
rock’n’roll. The artists will bring a taste of their magic to The Deaf Institute,
performing at 7.30pm.

October 9 th – 12 th – Beyond The Music (Festival)

Taking place over three days at various venues across Manchester’s iconic Northern
Quarter, the events will highlight some unmissable moments, including an in depth
conversation with BRIT Award winner Aitch. Check out Beyondthemusic.co.uk to

October 11 th – The Last Dinner Party – Victoria Warehouse

Despite a recent string of cancellations due to illness within their group, British indie
rock band The Last Dinner Party are still scheduled to take the stage at Victoria
Warehouse. Fans can expect a 7pm start!

October 11 th – Dent May – YES

Associated with psychedelic pop and indie rock, LA based singer Dent May to YES
to promote his new record ‘What’s For Breakfast?’. You guessed it, it’s another 7pm
start on our list!

October 11 th – Redd Kross – Gorilla

Rock band Redd Kross venture from California to the UK to bring an exciting show,
playing tracks from their recent self titled album that was given an impressive 7.8
score by Pitchfork. Redd Kross will play from 6.30pm.

October 12 th – Oysterband and June Tabor – RNCM Concert Hall

The legendary Oysterband are scheduled to bring their ‘A Long Goodbye Tour’ with
English folk singer June Tabor to the RNCM Concert Hall. It’s sure to be an
unmissable evening, commencing at 7.00pm.

October 12 th – Jax Jones – Albert Hall

The famous British DJ and Producer Jax Jones will take the Albert Hall by storm on
the 12 th . Dance the night away with friends to various hits and be sure to arrive for
9pm.

October 14 th – Wunderhorse – O2 Academy, Liverpool

They’re the British rock band everybody’s talking about! Wunderhorse are set to
perform for eager fans in Liverpool this month, be sure to bring money for merch!
Doors will be open for 7pm.

October 16 th – Borough Council – The Castle Hotel

Formed of brothers Haydn and Joe Ackerley with their longtime friend Tom Healey,
Borough Council will bring their alt-rock sound to The Castle. The show starts at
7.30pm.

October 16 th – Bastille – Manchester Cathedral

The widely adored indie-pop band Bastille are slated to perform their hits and some
deep cuts at the Manchester Cathedral from 8pm!

October 17 th – Mallory Knox – The O2 Ritz

Mallory Knox, the alternative English rock band from Cambridge are back and are
heading to the Ritz in Manchester. If you want to see a brilliant show, get there for
7pm.

October 17 th – Nina Nesbitt – Manchester Academy

With two top 40 hits to her name, Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt will give all
concert-goers a front row seat to witness her raw talent at the Manchester Academy.
Doors open at 7.30pm.

October 17 th – Leo Sayer – The Bridgewater Hall

He may call Australia home, but Leo Sayer still tours the world and has been active
since the early 1970s. This time, Sayer will be performing at The Bridgewater Hall
from 7.30pm.

October 18 th – Public Service Broadcasting – Albert Hall

Making yet another appearance in our guide this month – Public Service
Broadcasting. If you miss the Night N Day gig, you’ll have another chance to see
them at the Albert Hall from 7pm.

October 18 th – Unkle – Gorilla

Originally categorised as Trip-Hop, the group have had many guest artists and
producers work with them and they’re bringing their unique sound to Gorilla later this
month. The show starts at 6.30pm.

October 18 th – Shed Seven – Academy 2

Major contributors to the Britpop scene in the 1990s, Shed Seven will take the stage
at Academy 2 and their show begins at 7pm.

October 18 th – Afro Celt Sound System – Band On The Wall

The European and African group, who fuse electronic music with traditional Gaelic
and West African music, will appear at Band On The Wall. 7.30pm is the time to
arrive!

October 19 th – The Dream Machine – YES

Merseyside rockers ‘The Dream Machine’ make their way to YES Manchester this
month as part of ‘The Small Time Monsters Tour’. You can see them in all their glory
from 7pm.

October 19 th – Wunderhorse – Manchester Academy

If you’re unable to see the sensational band Wunderhorse at their Liverpool show
this month, you may not be out of luck just yet! Wunderhorse will play Manchester
Academy from 7pm.

October 20 th – Will Young – RNCM Concert Hall

Rising to fame after winning the original series of ITV’s Pop Idol, Will Young is
appearing at the RNCM Concert Hall in Manchester! The show starts at 7pm. If you
can’t make it, you will be able to see him earlier this month at Storyhouse in Chester
on October 13 th .

October 20 th – Becky Hill – AO Arena

The iconic Becky Hill will bring her magnetic stage presence and her tunes to the AO
Arena on October 20 th . You can see her from 7.30pm.

October 21 st – Ben Howard + Billie Marten – Aviva Studios

Ben Howard will be performing with special guest Billie Marten this month at the
Aviva Studios, making it the first time Howard will revisit an album retrospectively.
The show starts at 7pm!

October 23 rd – Master Boot Record – Satans Hollow

Master Boot Record is the project of producer Victor Love and a synth metal project
with chiptune and classical influence. You can still get tickets for the show, which
starts at 7pm.

October 23 rd – Tindersticks – New Century Hall

The English alt-rock band Tindersticks are performing at New Century Hall this
month off the back of their new record ‘Soft Tissue’. They will take the stage at 7pm.

October 25 th – EMF and Jesus Jones with Echobelly – The O2 Ritz

Blending the brilliance of three acts, EMF, Jesus Jones and Echobelly will be
appearing together as part of their tour at The O2 Ritz. The show begins at 6pm – it
has a lot of people talking!

October 26 th – Goat – AO Academy

The brilliant and often underrated Swedish alternative and experimental fusion music
group Goat are appearing at Manchester’s AO Academy for an unmissable evening.
You can see the show from 7pm.

October 26 th – Iron & Wine – New Century Hall

The American singer-songwriter, best known as Iron & Wine, will be singing his heart
out for listeners at the New Century Hall near the end of the month. Arrive by 7pm for
a great Saturday evening!

October 26 th – Los Bitchos – The O2 Ritz

Los Bitchos describe themselves as ‘4 gals from the underground realms of London,
tripping out on Tequila and Cumbia vibes.’ That’s enough to sell us! The group will
showcase their immaculate vibes and admirable talent from 7pm.

October 26 th – BERRIES – Gullivers

With their blend of dream pop and garage rock, you’re in for an evening of grunge
perfection at a BERRIES gig! Get down to Gullivers for 7pm!

October 27 th – Fucked Up – Outbreak Festival

Outbreak’s autumn festival is shaping up nicely with the addition of ‘Fucked Up’,
bringing their hardcore punk personas from Canada.

October 28 th – Jazmin Bean – Gorilla

The loveable eccentric Jazmin Bean will be performing tracks off the back of their
new record ‘Traumatic Livelihood’ at Gorilla this month! You can see Jazmin’s
sickening set from 7pm, don’t miss it!

October 30 th – Wand – YES (Pink Room)

Wand, the American psychedelic rock band from Los Angeles, California are heading
to the YES Pink Room at the end of this month! They will be playing from 7pm.

HALLOWEEN NIGHT PICKS! (October 31st)

Why bother trick or treating when you’re guaranteed a treat attending any of the following gigs on the spookiest night of the year? Here’s our Halloween line up.

John Grant – New Century Hall 

American singer-songwriter and co-founder of alt-rock band the Czars will play New Century Hall to close out October, with his set beginning at 7pm.

BIG SPECIAL – New Century Hall 

The punk duo describe themselves as “a band that wish to explore the bleak and beautiful honesty of a nation in an ever growing state of depression through personal experience” – with the current state of the world, it’s fitting that they’re playing New Century Hall on Halloween. Get your tickets to see them from 7pm.

Freya Beer – 33 Oldham Street 

Freya Beer will bring her gothic attire and alternative sound to 33 Oldham Street this Halloween and we expect she will make the event particularly spooky for the occasion! Throw on your scariest fit and rock up for 7pm.

KNIFE BRIDE – Rebellion 

KNIFE BRIDE, the alt-metal band formed in Brighton, will be in Manchester supporting Defects on their ‘Bloodline Tour’ this Halloween! Be prepared for a 7pm start.
